Music therapy along with traditional treatments can reduce depression
Many studies have shown that music has the healing power to reduce emotional or mental stress.
Research has also shown that music has an influence not only on humans but also animals.
Many people prefer to listen to music when they feel sad or low or depressed as music makes one feel calm and relaxed.
A recent research says that music therapy if added with depression treatments like psychotherapy or medicines can have a positive effect on patients.
The research was done on 421 people who took part in short-term experiments held to understand the benefits of music therapy in treating depression.
It found that patients felt less depressed and reduced anxiety when music was made a part of their treatments.
