Sensex closes 216 points up, Nifty settles above 10,300

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty were trading up on Friday after exit polls guessed a win for Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the recently held elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.

The BSE Sensex closed 216.27 points up at 33,462.97 while the NSE Nifty closed 81.15 points up at 10,333.25.

The top three Sensex gainers were M&M (+3.56%), Coal India (+3.02%) and Dr Reddy (+2.52%).

The top three Sensex losers were Cipla (-2.53%), ONGC (-0.87%) and Asian Paint (-0.54%).

The top three Nifty gainers were Vedanta Ltd (+5.03%), Yes Bank (+4.00%) and M&M (+3.59%).

The top three Nifty losers were Tech Mahindra (-3.50%), Cipla (-2.58%) and Bosch Ltd (-0.98%).
