Spinal Injury Centre to come up in Odisha

Odisha government is planning to set up a Regional Spinal Injury Centre at the Capital Hospital in the city.

This centre will specially focus on patients that have spinal disabilities, orthopaedic and neurological related problems.

This will be the second such centre in Odisha

This will be the second spinal injury centre in Odisha as the SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack is already providing services for spinal issues.

An amount of Rs 2.33 crore will be spent by the government for the development of the centre.

The centre will have dedicated 12 beds for spinal injury patients and will share the operation theatre of orthopaedic department of the Capital Hospital.

The staff at the hospital will be given specialized training to acquaint them with the use of assistive technology.
