Delhi High Court directs AAP government to create awareness on rights of senior citizens
The Delhi High Court has informed the AAP government to start an awareness programme on the rights and protection available to senior citizens.
The court also suggested the government officials to run regular advertisements in television, radio and newspapers to help senior citizens in pain.
The idea is to make the senior people aware of their rights and various schemes offered by the government to help them lead a better life.
The move came after a petitioner claimed that the laws and acts related to senior citizens were of no use.
The court has issued a notice to the central and Delhi government to take action about releasing advertisements on a mass level.
The next hearing of the case is on 30 January next year.
