Video of baby elephant rescue by forest officer goes viral

A heart touching video of a baby elephant being rescued by forest officer in Mettupalayam in Coimbatore has gone viral on the social media.

The baby elephant was separated from his herd and was stuck in mud after it fell into a canal.

The baby was too weak to walk and survive on its own.

The Forest Department officers tried to reunite the baby to its herd but the baby kept on coming back to the Forest officer.

Forest officials took care of the baby for two days, feeding the weak calf Lactogen, glucose and coconut water.

In the video a Forest Department officer can be seen carrying the baby elephant on his shoulders to get to the herd and return it to its mother.

The baby was finally taken by the mother into the herd.
