Over 30 people killed in bus accident in Rajasthan, bus driver was 16 years old

Over 30 people were killed and many more injured when a bus fell into a river from an 100-foot high bridge in Rajasthan's Sawai Madhopur district.

The bus was taking passengers from Lal Soth to Sawai Madhopur, and was being driven by a 16-year-old conductor who was speeding and lost control over the vehicle. The driver was sleeping at the time and handed over controls to the conductor. Both of them were also killed.

There were around 50 passengers in the bus. Emergency workers with steel cutters rushed to the scene of the accident to rescue those trapped inside.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered his condolences to the families of the affected. The passengers were from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Assam. Many of them were going to offer prayers at a temple.
