Video game addiction is a serious mental disorder: WHO

The World Health Organisation – WHO has expressed serious concern about the growing addiction of Video games in children.

The habit of playing video games can cause long term harm to the mental health of kids.

In fact, the World Health Organisation is now considering that the disorder of gaming addiction should be added to the list of International Classification of Diseases – ICD.

WHO has observed that constant addiction to gaming can cause a certain behavior change in the player.

The player loses control over his own life as gaming takes priority in life.

The players are not able to control, how often they play and for how long?

They are unable to stop playing and lose interest in everything else around them.

This is prominent in people who spend more time daily on games- 'digital or 'video’ online or offline.
