MP & Rajasthan top in the list of states issuing UDID cards
Madhya Pradesh has been named as the state on first rank for for issuing Unique Disability Identity Cards.
The second in the list is the state of Rajasthan.
The Unique Disability Identity Cards (UDID) which is also called Swavlambhan Cards are given out to disabled people in the country.
Madhya Pradesh has so far given out 1,66,783 UDIDs. In Rajasthan 1.21 lakh UDID have been issued against a total of 3.74 cards all over the country.
However, some states such as States like Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir have zero generation of UDID cards till now.
The data has been released by the ministry of social justice and empowerment.
The UDID will ensure that transfers of monetary benefits such as scholarship, employment, and marriage allowances are made directly into the bank accounts of people with disabilities.
The UDID card are almost like the Aadhaar cards and store information about the card holder such as disability, health record, financial status and link through welfare schemes.
