Limit may be set on number of visitors to iconic Taj Mahal
The Archaeological Survey of India-ASI may soon put a limit on the number of visitors that are allowed to visit the Taj Mahal in Agra.
As per reports, ASI is planning to restrict the number of tourists visiting the Taj Mahal to 40,000 daily.
A time limit may also be implemented on every ticket that will allow the visitors to stay at the Taj Mahal for three hours only.
Currently that there is no restriction on the number of tourist and the time they spend while visiting the Taj Mahal.
The Culture Ministry will implement the limit on both online and offline sale of tickets at the 40,000 mark.
At present an average 60,000 to 70,000 tourists visit the iconic monument every day.
