Cochlear implants allow 7 year old to hear for the first time
Teesa is a seven year old girl who was born deaf but can now hear with the help of cochlear implants in her ears.
Teesa was one year old when she was adopted by American woman Kathleen Arden.
In her first year, Teesa lived in an orphanage in India and was not taught any signs that could help her communicate.
Her life changed completely when she got the cochlear implant surgery in one ear at a New York hospital.
A few months later, another implant was done in the other ear as well.
Teesa is now able to hear clearly and that helps her to get a better understanding of life around her. She is now a very happy child and communicates easily.
