Special group on disabled people will help design smart cities
The Union housing and urban affairs ministry is planning to create special groups to focus on the needs of people with disabilities.
These groups will be useful in collecting data which will be used while designing the smart city projects of the government.
Housing and urban affairs minister Hardeep Puri has said that the specialized groups will be based on people with disabilities, women and young professionals.
The feedback of these people will help in designing of smart cities that can meet the requirements of people from all walks of life.
The groups will have ordinary people, experts and also agencies and organisations that are working for the welfare of the people with disabilities, women and the youth.
The group for disabled people fill focus on the problems and challenges faced by people with disabilities and also come with the solutions to the issues.
This will help make the smart cities accessible and disabled friendly.
