IRCTC staffer paralyzed after being beaten by passengers

A staff member of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation- IRCTC was assaulted by two passengers and left paralysed.

The incident is reported to have taken place on the Sealdah Rajdhani Express near Gaya on Monday evening.

Md Zaid and his uncle M Quraishi thrashed the staffer when he was carrying an ice cream carton and it brushed against one of them.

The two accused men have been taken under arrest from Park Circus in Kolkata, by the Government Railway Police – GRP.

The two men had beaten up the employee named Sushanta Behera so badly that he collapsed and is fighting for life at the Apollo Gleneagles Hospital.

The victim is paralyzed and has suffered injuries to his brain and spine.

Sadly, more than 70 other passengers were present in the coach and did not try to stop the horrific beating, they only informed the security after the victim had collapsed.
