He is the most decorated Olympian of all-time, yet Michael Phelps faced an intense battle with clinical depression. At a press conference in Chicago, Phelps shared details of his struggle.

He said that he locked himself up for four days after he won four gold medals and two silver medals at the 2012 London Olympics. He said that after every Olympics, he fell into a major state of depression. He even thought about suicide during that period.
