Shiv Sena to contest 2019 elections solo
Maharashtra’s regional political party Shiv Sena has decided to contest the assembly polls in 2019 without the partnership with BJP.
The two parties have been contesting elections together for many years. However, the party has declared that in the 2019 elections, it will be contesting alone as it is not happy with the performance of BJP in the state and centre and wants to contest on its own agenda.
The party will however, continue its support to the current BJP led government in Maharashtra for the time being.
The party will be using the Hindutva mantra to contest the elections as per Sena president Uddhav Thackeray.
Shiv Sena has criticized the policies and actions of the centre government and said that PM Modi is not aggressive enough.
