Even one cigarette per day is unsafe: Study

Researchers have found that intake of cigarette smoke even in small quantities is unsafe for health.

A recent data analysis claims that smoking just one cigarette a day can increase the risk of coronary heart disease and stroke by a large margin.

Researchers claim that smoking one cigarette cannot make a person safer in comparison to those who smoke more. There is no such thing as safe smoking and it is dangerous for health irrespective of the number of cigarettes.</ strong>

It has been found that men who have one cigarette per day had a 48 % higher risk of heart disease and 25 % higher risk of stroke compared to people who have never smoked.

For women, there is a 57 % and 31 % higher risk for heart disease and stroke, respectively, compared to non smokers.
