Odisha Blind Association wants increase in monthly pension for visually impaired
An association for blind in the state of Odisha has demanded that the monthly pension given to visually impaired people should be increased from Rs 500 to Rs 2,000.
The Odisha Association for the Blind – OAB has asked the state governmnet to make the raise as Andhra Pradesh and Haryana provide Rs 2,000 every month as pension to visually impaired people.
Odisha Association for the Blind is a private organization in the state and has asked the government to consider the rise in prices and inflation.
OAB has also demanded that more specially trained teachers are needed for the schools for blind as there are not enough teachers posted at present.
There are 55 schools in Odisha for children with disabilities and these include schools for the visually impaired children as well.
