Earthquake in Afghanistan, tremors felt in New Delhi, Haryana
A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck Afghanistan today, with tremors felt in Delhi and neighbouring Haryana and Punjab. The quake was also felt in Jammu and Kashmir. The tremors lasted a few seconds.
The earthquake, which was also felt in Pakistan, hit near Afghanistan's northern border with Tajikistan in the Hindukush mountains. One baby was killed and nine of her family members were reportedly injured after a roof of their home collapsed in Pakistan's Balochistan.
Many people felt tremors in Delhi and lights shook in television studios. In Srinagar, people were seen rushing out of buildings and offices.
