Shah Rukh Khan’s benami property gets IT department notice
The Income Tax department has taken action against an alleged benami property belonging to Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.
As per reports, the actor has been given 90 days’ time to reply to the inquiry filed by the IT department on the said property. The property is a farmhouse in Alibaug in Maharashtra.
If the said property is found to be a benami attachment, action will be taken accordingly.
The property is in the name of a company called the Deja Vu Farms and they were given unsecured loan of Rs 8.5 crore by Shah Rukh Khan.
The land was transferred in the company's name with the condition that it will be used for farming within three years.
The farmhouse is spread over 19,960 sq m and has a swimming pool and private helipad.
