Leading clothing brand Target rolls out clothing for disabled women
Target is expanding its clothing options beyond children for adults as well with a new collection of jeans and tops.
The sensory-friendly and adaptive clothing for women is part of a new line called Universal Thread that’s meant to fit individuals of all shapes and sizes. The idea is to make great style available to everyone at good value and quality.
What is sensory-friendly clothing?
Sensory friendly clothing means clothing that is free of tags, has flat seams and extra soft material. Adaptive denim in the Target collection will offer a high-rise back and longer inseams, wider leg openings to make dressing easier, no back pockets and front pockets.
The new line of products for women with disabilities come just months after Target launched a collection of sensory-friendly and adaptive clothing for children as part of its Cat & Jack brand. There is no information about whether such sensory-friendly and adaptive options will be available for men.
The Universal Thread will be featured in stores, and online when the collection goes on sale on 4 February.
