App created to help schizophrenia patients
An app called SlowMo has been developed for the benefit of people with schizophrenia.
Schizophrenia is a chronic and severe mental disorder that affects how a person thinks, feels, and behaves with others. People with schizophrenia can become paranoid and excessively tense and nervous.
They tend to hear voices in their heads and lose contact with reality.
SlowMo is a kind of digital therapy that helps schizophrenia patients control paranoid thoughts and remain calm.
The app is currently being tested in Sussex, UK by the Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust and the University of Sussex.
The results of the trials have been positive and have raised the hopes of patients.
The app aids the patients in staying in control of their thoughts and feelings while among others.
This helps them lead a better life and feel less isolated.
