Paralyzed Kerala man plans a trip across India
Prajith Jayachandran was paralyzed due to a spinal injury in an accident 7 years ago.
The young man from Kozhikode in Kerala has decided to not let his disability become a hurdle in his life. He is all set to begin a unique journey across the country in a car on 1 April.
Prajith has a specially designed Maruti Celerio car that has been modified to meet his physical needs.
The car’s break and accelerator can be controlled with hand. The car was designed by Malappuram native Mustafa who designs cars for people with disabilities.
Prajisth has planned to travel from Kozhikode and reach Delhi via Mangalore, Mysuru, Goa, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Agra.
On his return journey he will travel through the Wagah border in Punjab and will reach Kozhikode via Hyderabad, Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram.
The journey will be around 11,000 km long and Prajith will have a technician and an assistant travelling with him.
Prajith wishes to meet the Prime Minister in Delhi to share the issues faced by disabled people in the country.
He also wants to inspire other disabled people to aspire for their dreams and fight the challenges.
