Group of Muslim youth in Hyderabad object to popular Malayalam song

The Malayalam song ‘Manikya Malaraya Poovi’ is getting much appreciation from people all over the world. However, a group of Muslim youngsters from Hyderabad have objected as they believe that the lyrics of the song make objectionable references to Prophet Mohammad and his wife Khadijah Bivi.

A complaint was filed at the Falaknuma Police Station in Hyderabad, which had signatures from 57 members of Muslim community. A case has been registered against the makers of the movie, mainly its director Omar Lulu for deliberately hurting religious sentiments.

Lulu had clarified that there was no intention to hurt anyone's religious sentiments.

The song has become a hit especially for the expressions of newcomer Priya Prakash Varrier. She already has more than a million followers, making her an overnight sensation like many Hollywood celebrities.
