It has been claimed that climbing stairs is good for reduction of another serious health problem which is high blood pressure problem.
Other benefits are reduced risk of osteoporosis, better lipid profiles and fat loss.
Researchers studied the health and vitals of postmenopausal women who were trained four days a week and climbed 192 steps two to five times a day.
The results showed reduction in stress, blood pressure and increase in leg strength.
