Hawaiian amputee model to walk at Milan Fashion Week
Hawaiin model Shaholly Ayers is all set to walk the ramp at Milan Fashion Week. The catwalk which will be sponsored by Julia Barton is held in support of the Vertical Foundation, an organization that funds for research of spinal cord injury.
Shaholly Ayers has many achievements to her credit. She is the brand ambassador for the Global Disability Inclusion. This model has appeared in many international magazines as well. Apart from being featured in Nordstrom’s National Catalog for 3 times, Shaholly has come in The New York Times, The Sun News Paper, GQ Italia, GQ Japan and The Guardian. Her life story has been covered by top magazines like Shape.com and Today.com as well.
Shaholly who was born in Florida is now living in Honolulu. Shaholly wants to improve diversity in the fashion industry and she wants people to think what the idea of being attractive is!
Shaholly Ayers will be walking the ramp with models of all abilities from across the world. The fashion show will feature top designers like Antonio Urzi, Luigi Borbone, Diego Salerno, Angelo Cruciani, Giuseppe Fata and Massimo Crivelli to name a few.
Shaholly is a congenital amputee, and her journey with the fashion industry was not easy. Initially, many people did not want to hire her, but Shaholly who was determined, and made sure that she reaches a top place in the fashion world. Her first ever model walk was at the New York Fashion Week, and that too without a prosthetic. The model started being noticed ever since then.
Shaholly has made sure that her disability does not become a block in achieving what she wants.
