Blood donation record, the efforts of a social worker from Karnataka
Lata Amasi helped the blood donation drive of her club make it to the Guinness Book of World Records.
The Rotary Club in Karnataka and Lata Amasi had helped in organizing blood donation camps in 13 different places within a span of eight hours two years ago.
The tireless efforts of the lady resulted in the collection of 3,034 litres of blood.
Lata has been busy with social work for the last 17 years and has helped make lives better constantly.
She has worked as a senior manager in Syndicate Bank and then as a lecturer at the Bengaluru University.
It was while working at the university that she started to work for the welfare of the poor people and become part of social clubs.
She helped more than 30,000 poor people get their surgery done over eight years when she was part of a club that worked for visually-challenged individuals.
She is the President of the Blood Donation Committee in the Rotary Club in Bengaluru and makes sure that blood donation drives are held regularly to collect blood that can save thousands of lives.
