Army to help out soldiers with disabilities
The Indian Army's South Western Command (SWC) has launched that their theme for the year 2018 is, ‘Year of the War Disabled Soldiers’.
The Army will have events all year long to honour the disabled war veterans. Activities will be held in various parts of the country.
The Army said that the aim of these activities will be to create awareness among disabled soldiers of the benefits they are entitled to. All the Army bases will provide assistance to the disabled in every way possible.
Defence officers will also start a ‘Satat Milaap’ team that will help create a database for the disabled. They will speak to the disabled soldiers to know more about the problems they are facing.
There are over 5,000 disabled soldiers across the country, with 2,000 in Rajasthan alone. The aim is to offer help at the doorsteps of these soldiers.
