Mumbai cop arrested for travelling in disabled persons coach
A Mumbai police officer has been booked and arrested for travelling in the disabled coach of a local train in Mumbai. Dhondappa Ghejge, a 50-year-policeman had to face charges for illegally travelling in the coach.
The incident was reported by a disabled passenger who saw Ghejge sitting on a seat in the coach reserved for disabled people. The train was going from Dahisar to Churchgate. When questioned, Ghejge got angry with Modi.
Soon, Modi called the Railway Protection Force (RPF) helpline at 182. When the train reached Mumbai Central station, the railway police officers got hold of Ghejge and found out that he was a cop himself.
Modi alleged that Ghejge tried to assault him as well. Both were taken to the police station where Ghejge was charged under Right of Persons with Disabilities 2016 Act. Modi made sure that an FIR was filed against the policeman as well.
