Karnataka government launches many schemes to empower disabled women
The Karnataka government is taking many steps to empower disabled women in the state.
The Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah launched 30 Saviruchi Sanchari Canteens for disabled women to run independently. This move to improve the lives of women with disabilities in Karnataka has been warmly welcomed by many people.
The Chief Minister also handed over keys of 100 modified vehicles to women with disabilities at the state assembly premises. This is another move to empower them and make them independent.
Apart from this, the Karnataka government has sanctioned Rs 10 lakh completely interest-free for women with disabilities. The process of identifying women with disabilities was done thoroughly by the state government. All applications were submitted online.
Disability rights groups said that the government process was very transparent. Officials did not ask for bribes them or harass them.
