11 people lose partial vision at Chhattisgarh hospital after undergoing cataract surgery
Eleven people have lost their vision in one eye after undergoing a cataract surgery at a hospital in Chhattisgarh.
There were 96 patients who underwent cataract operations at the Christian Fellowship Hospital in the last week of February. Eleven lost vision in one eye after they developed post-surgery infections.
The state government has ordered a probe into the incident.
A number of hospitals and NGOs organize free or subsidized cataract surgeries to prevent blindness.
