Youth in Delhi at risk of behavioural issues from mobile internet usage
A large number of youth in Delhi are facing behavioural addiction problems. A study has linked this to excessive use of the Internet on their mobile phones. This addiction is affecting their health in many ways.
Experts say that youngsters face many health issues. This includes lack of proper sleep, anxiety and insomnia, headaches, and memory loss. Depression and fatigue are some of the other problems.
The survey was conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) and Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC). 817 people from Delhi were a part of this study. This included students and working people.
Out of this, 56% had behavioural problems due to excess usage of Internet on their smart phones. They were addicted to games, Twitter, and Facebook, to name a few.
Experts say that such issues are common among youth in western countries as well.
