Shashi Kapoor & Sridevi honoured at the Oscar awards

Indian cinema icon Shashi Kapoor and India's first female superstar Sridevi were honored at the 90th Academy Awards ceremony.

Tributes were paid to both in the montage, In Memoriam

The Indian stars got a musical tribute by Eddie Vedder who took the stage to sing.

Actress Jennifer Garner introduced the segment.

Shashi Kapoor was the son of Prithviraj Kapoor and younger brother of Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor. He made his debut in Bollywood in 1961 with the film Dharmputra. He passed away in December 2017.

Shashi Kapoor made a name for himself in global cinema. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2011. In 2015, he was honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

Sridevi, who was loved for her dancing, expressive eyes, and comic timing died on 24 February.

Both stars were included in the annual montage. There were other great film legends mentioned as well.
