How to change the address on your Aadhaar card, online

Aadhaar has become an important government-issued document.

Aadhaar is needed as an ID proof almost everywhere these days.

If you have moved to a new address, it will need to be updated in your Aadhaar card details.

Here is how the address can be updated in the Aadhaar database online.

  1. Log in to the https://uidai.gov.in/ website.

  2. Click on Address Update Request (Online).

  3. A new webpage will open in a new tab. Read the instructions and click on ‘Proceed’ at the bottom.

  4. Enter your Aadhaar number and the text verification code to receive the OTP.

  5. Enter the OTP (One Time Password)

  6. Choose whether you want to change the Aadhaar card address by area pin code or by address.

  7. Fill in the required details and click on Submit.

  8. A proof of your correct address will be needed. Choose from a number of ID proofs, such as passport, insurance policy, credit card statement, telephone bill (landline), property tax receipt, etc.

  9. The last thing to do is to select the BPO service provider. Clicking on the radio button next to the service providers’ names, and click Submit.

Make sure that you are entering the correct details. The address will be updated only after verification.
