Disabled cricketers from India & Afghanistan to battle it out in 3-day Test match

The India and Afghanistan teams of disabled cricketers will play a three-day Test match at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Noida. The series will begin on 20 March 2018.

This is the first time that the two teams will play Tests in Noida. This will be followed by one-day matches between the teams on 1 and 2 April.

Both sides have started preparing for the match.

In December 2015, the Greater Noida cricket stadium officially became the home ground for the Afghanistan cricketers. This is after the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) signed a memorandum of understanding to this effect.

The disabled cricket teams from India and Afghanistan had played T-20 matches under the Dosti Cup in Vadodara in May 2017.

The stadium can currently accommodate around 10,000 people. The authority wants to increase this capacity to accommodate 14,000 people.
