Camps in Jammu to provide assistive devices to disabled students
The Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India, Kanpur, (ALIMCO) is providing assistive devices free to disabled people at camps in Jammu in March. The camps are being organized in partnership with Indian Oil Corporation Limited, the district administration, and an NGO called Jammu and J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra.
Two camps are being organized at the J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra. It is located behind Satsang Hall Shahidi Chowk. The camps are on 17 and 27 March 2018.
The camp on 17 March is an Assessment Camp. Here the requirement of assistive devices will be assessed by experts. The devices that will be available are motorized tricycles, tricycles, wheelchairs, hearing aids, smartphones, cerebral palsy chairs, crutches, etc.
These devices will be fitted on 27 March. This camp will be held at the school run by the Samaj Kalyan Kendra at 9 AM.
People who want to get the benefits will have to come with their original Aadhaar cards as well as a photocopy of the card. They will also have to carry a photocopy of their disability certificate, one photograph showing the disability, and proof of income (should be less than Rs. 15,000 per month).
