Blind woman runs 12 hours on treadmill, sets world record
A blind woman from Ireland has left everyone stunned by running an amazing 130-5-km, or 81.09 miles, for 12 straight hours. It has won her a place in the Guinness World Records.
35-year-old Sinead Kane, who has 5% vision, ran 130.5-km, which is the same as three marathons.
The record for the greatest distance run on a treadmill in 12 hours for a female, was earlier broken by Sinead as well, by 1.88 km.
She also holds the record of being the first blind female to run a marathon on all seven continents within a timeframe of seven days. Sinead said she wanted to take on his challenge to change preconceptions about disabled people.
Sinead was born without irises. This allows her eyes to take in an excessive amount of light making her see whiteness instead of darkness.
