Padmaavat enters the Rs 300 crore club
Bollywood movie Padmaavat has made an entry into the Rs 300 crore club.
The movie has done good business since its release, despite the controversies that were connected to it.
There are six other Bollywood movies that have done business of more than 300 crore rupees.
PK, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan, Dangal, Tiger Zinda Hai and Baahubali 2 (Hindi) have all been the highest grossing movies.
In fact, Baahubali -The Conclusion is the only film to break into the Rs 500 crore club, solely in its Hindi version.
Padmaavat was released on 25 January amid protests from Rajput groups and some politicians. The protests were based on the portrayal of historical events in the film.
Even the name of the movie was changed from Padmaavati to Padmaavat to ensure a peaceful release.
However, it seems the negative publicity worked out for the movie and helped it do well on the box office.
