Bodies of 39 Indians abducted by ISIS found
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has confirmed that the bodies of 39 Indians, abducted by terrorist group, ISIS, have been found in Iraq. Their bodies will be brought back to India soon.
The Minister of State for External Affairs, V K Singh, will be leaving for Iraq to bring the bodies back to India.
The 40 Indians were abducted from Iraq in 2014. One of them pretended to be a Bangladeshi Muslim and managed to escape. The others were taken to Badoosh and killed by the ISIS.
The bodies were found in a mass grave in Badoosh. Iraqi officials have dug the bodies of the Indians out. Deep penetration radars had to be used to dig the graves. The bodies were sent to Baghdad for DNA testing.
