Arunachal Pradesh passes bill for death sentence to rapists of girls under 12
Arunachal Pradesh has become the fourth state in India to approve a bill that calls for death sentence to rapists of girls up to 12 years of age.
The other three states that have passed the bill are Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana.
The bill has been created to ensure that rape accused get strict punishment and that deters others from committing the crime.
There has been a rapid increase in sexual assault cases against minors in the country lately. The bill is expected to make the country safe for women, although most states are yet to pass the bill.
