Air India reduces minimum age limit for senior citizens to get discounts
Air India has reduced the minimum age limit for senior citizens to avail discounts on their ticket prices.
The age limit has been reduced from the existing 63 to 60 years.
The revised age limit will be implemented with immediate effect for all domestic sectors.
The lowering of age will be a boost to older travelers as the summer holiday season booking rush has started.
The new rule will be applicable on any senior citizen who is an Indian national, a permanent resident in India, and has attained the age of 60 on the date of the journey.
The rule allows for a 50% discount on economy class tickets.
To avail the discounts, senior travelers will need to produce a valid photo-identity card with the date of birth.
These could be Aadhaar, Voter ID, Driving Licence, Passport or Senior Citizens ID card issued by Air India at the time of making the bookings.
