Australia's cricket captain Steve Smith banned for a match over ball tampering scandal

Steve Smith, the captain of the Australian cricket team, has been banned for one Test match. He has also been heavily fined.

This is after he was caught ball tempering. Smith has admitted to committing the the offence.

The incident too place during the ongoing third Test against South Africa.

Australian opener Cameron Bancroft has also been charged with altering the condition of the ball after he was caught rubbing the ball with a yellow tape on camera.

Smith confessed that he was part of the decision to change the condition of the ball.

Smith has also been sacked as captain of the Australian team. Smith is also the member of the Rajasthan Royals team.

The Rajasthan Royals spokesperson has said that the team management will wait for instructions from BCCI before taking action on Steve Smith.
