Banks will not be closed for 5 days. Here is what you need to know!

Worried about the upcoming bank holidays this week? Take a deep breath, as banks are not going to be closed continuously for five days. The All India Bank Officers Confederation has said that banks will be closed only on Thursday and Friday.

Over the last few days, social media has been flooded with news of banks shutting down from Thursday, only to reopen on Monday. This has created worries that ATMs will run out of cash.

Banks are shut on Thursday and Friday due to Mahaveer Jayanthi and Good Friday. They will re-open on Saturday for business.

Since this is the fifth Saturday of the month, which is not an official holiday, people can start availing banking services on Saturday. Banks are closed only on second and fourth Saturdays.

2 April will also be a holiday due to the annual closing of accounts.
