Former Australian cricket captain Steve Smith breaks down during press conference

Former Australia captain Steve Smith cried and repeatedly apologized during a press conference held over the ball tampering issue. Smith was unable to finish a press conference at Sydney Airport.

Australian cricket coach Darren Lehmann also wiped a few tears and announced that he would step down as the team coach after the Test match against South Africa.

Vice-captain David Warner, who was sacked, apologized on Instagram. Another player, Cameron Bancroft, admitted to reporters that he had lied about using sandpaper on the cricket ball during the series against South Africa.

Lehmann said that as the team coach he was responsible for the incident. This is even though Cricket Australia has cleared him of tampering with the ball.
