Kashmir University holds 2 day seminar on care for elderly
The University of Kashmir is holding a national seminar on ‘Ageing and Elderly Care, critical Issues, Challenges and the Way Forward’. The 2 day event began at the university campus on Thursday. The seminar will be attended by students, professors and leading experts and researchers from various fields. The social work department of the college is organizing the seminar in collaboration with the National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
Vice Chancellor Professor Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi is the one who presided over the inaugural session. Andrabi said that as a society we have gone down because we are not giving any priority to the aged and elderly. During earlier times, they were our first priority. He added that education system must play a important role in bringing out a developed and cultured society.
In the events that will take place in the 2 days, experts will speak about various topics related to care of senior citizens and elderly in India.
