Sachin Tendulkar donates his full salary as MP to Prime Minister's Relief Fund

Former cricketer and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) Sachin Tendulkar has donated his entire salary to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund.

The amount is nearly ₹90 lakh for the past six years.

Tendulkar’s six-year Rajya Sabha term is ending this month. He received the salary and other monthly allowances as an MP.

A letter was issued by the Prime Minister office to acknowledge Sachin's gesture.

Sachin was often criticized for not attending Parliament sessions regularly, but he did a lot of work as an MP. He is reported to have sanctioned 185 development projects across India during his term.

Tendulkar also adopted two villages under the Sansad Gram Adarsh Gram Yojana Scheme, including one in Andhra Pradesh and the other in Maharashtra.
