Blind tribal girl from Madhya Pradesh sets an example for her community
Sharada Dawar, 24, a tribal girl from Madhya Pradesh who is blind, was given a loan of Rs 10,000 to complete her studies. The help was provided by the district collector of Alirajpur a few months ago.
Once Sharada got a job in a bank, she returned the money to the collector saying that it could be used to help other girls like her. Her father is a farmer and now the village people want to honour her for her achievement. The area has low literacy rates and few people complete school let alone go to college. Sharada has become an inspiration for the people in her community who want to follow her example.
