A residential project in West Bengal to offer comfort to the elderly

A unique residential building is coming up in West Bengal for senior citizens. The 11-storied building is being built to provide total comfort to the elderly.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has named the project Snehodiya. It is being built behind the Swapna Bhor Senior Citizen’s Park in Kolkata.

The Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HUDCO) is building this project.

The Snehodiya facility is for people above the age of 55 years. The building can accommodate 200 people It has double and single residential units.

The facilities will be designed keeping in mind the needs of the elderly who have not family support.

The flat units can be rented. There is a security deposit of Rs 45 lakh for double occupancy. For single occupancy, it is Rs 25 lakh for the single ones.

The monthly rent is Rs 16,000 payable by the seventh day of every month. The building comes with terrace gardens and a central kitchen for food supplies.

Railings and handle bars will be provided to make the premises accessible for senior citizens.
