Ludhiana railway station toilets of little use to disabled people
Toilets for disabled people at the Ludhiana railway station has been of no use to the disabled commuters. According to reports, the toilets are always shut down in platform numbers 4, 5, 6 and 7 of the station. Each platform has been provided with a toilet for the disabled. This is to ensure that they do not have to cross platforms.
The bathrooms for disabled people at 4, 5, 6, and 7 platforms are always locked. One of the daily commuters at Ludhiana station says that he has never seen the bathrooms. Most of the times, disabled people are forced to move to platforms 1 and 2. They face many hardships during this. Some have even missed their trains.
Station authorities say they did not know passengers were facing such a problem. They have assured that action will be taken and that bathrooms for disabled people in different platforms are kept unlocked.
