The intense heat of the summer season can make our eyes dry and irritable. Many people suffer from allergies and this causes a lot of discomfort.

Here are some simple tips to keep the eyes healthy and relaxed this summer.

  1. Splash cold water on the eyes several times during the day. Cotton pads soaked in ice cold water also give relief.

  2. Aloe vera gel can also be used to soothe eyes in summer. The gel can be frozen and rubbed over the eyelids.

  3. Cucumber, cut into slices and refrigerated, can be put on the eyelids to remove stress and heat exhaustion.

  4. Tired and puffy eyes can also be cured with the help of raw potato. Place a thin slice of a peeled potato on each eye for 15 minutes.

  5. Another common household item that can make the eyes look nicer is a tomato. Mix the pulp with some lemon juice and a pinch of turmeric. Apply it under the eyes. Leave it on for about 20 minutes. Then wash it off to get rid of dark circles.
