Late actors Sridevi and Vinod Khanna to get National Film Awards posthumously
Late actress Sridevi has been named the winner of the National Film Award for Best Actress.
Sridevi would be awarded her first National Film Award posthumously, for her performance in the movie MOM.
Sridevi had drowned in the bathroom of a Dubai hotel in February this year.
Sridevi had played the role of a mother who avenges the rape of her daughter. It was the last movie of Sridevi released before the actress died in Dubai.
The 65th National Film Awards were announced on Friday.
Late actor Late actor Vinod Khanna has also been named as a recipient of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award posthumously.
The award is considered to be India's highest award given for contribution in the field of cinema.
