PM Narendra Modi breaks silence on rape and murder of Asifa Bano from Kathua

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi finally broke silence about the rape and murder of eight-year-old girl at Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir. Narendra Modi said that India’s daughters will definitely get justice.

The PM also gave an assurance that no one would be spared and victims would get complete justice.

There is growing outrage over how a group of lawyers stopped the police from filing a charge sheet against the accused in the brutal rape and murder of the little girl. The Supreme Court took notice of this and said that lawyers have no right to disrupt the process of justice for victims.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi tweeted that he is happy about Modi finally breaking the silence on the issue.

The Jammu and Kashmir crime branch is investigating the case. The little girl, who was from the Gujjar Bakerwal tribe was the victim of communal tensions between the local Hindu and Muslim communities.

The little girl was drugged and raped over a period of three days at a prayer hall. She was later strangled.

Many local police were involved in covering up the crime as well.
